Bringing Home the Dough

Manage all Good Manufacturing, Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance programs within assigned bakery.  This role provides governance of the quality and food safety management process and leads the implementation of the Company’s policies, standards, and GFSI standards at the facility. The role leads and manages the site quality and food safety team to assure the production of high quality, safe and legally compliant products that meet the desired product design and customer expectations.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

• Promote teamwork across departments.
• Maintain log of all documented GMP and internal audit GAP’s and corrective actions taken.
• Manage audits and inspections by third party inspectors. Collaborate with appropriate teams regarding quality program management.
• Manage preventive control and foreign material compliance. Build effective root cause analyzes and corrective actions. 
• Manage physical, chemical, and biological findings with proper corrective actions in place. 
• Maintain a foreign material log per company requirements.  
• Maintain overall responsibility for KPIs related to food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. 
• Manage raw goods and finished goods inspection processes in compliance with company standards
• Maintain Quality Manual as outlined in GFSI standards. 
• Responsible for outside service/vendor compliance with all policies and standards.
• Achieve and maintain annual Food Safety certification. 
• Verify and validate the GFSI systems and all changes. 
• Responsible for daily product review and record keeping on all shifts.
• Ensure disposition of “Hold” & “Release” product is authorized in accordance with Corporate Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Track and respond to all product complaints, keeping bakery management informed of complaints and resolutions.
• Update corporate of all new and current formulas to ensure compliance of nutritional panels. 
• Maintain environmental monitoring program per company standards,
• Coordinate the correct disposition of product samples using outside test results.
• Conduct weekly review of master sanitation schedule adherence and pest control records, identifying issues and participating with plant personnel on sanitation planning.
• Ensure ATP testing is complete by plant personnel.  
• Conduct & attend relevant training on food safety, quality standards and procedures. 
• Maintain thorough records of Food Quality Reports, Tests, and Inspections. 

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of plant quality assurance / control experience in the food industry -including 2+ years in a supervisory role.

• B.S. Food Science, Food Technology, Cereal Chemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline

Salary Range-  85000 - 95000
