Job description

Our client is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Engineer to be responsible for inspecting electronic assemblies, identifying defects, verifying corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement activities within a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with production teams, engineers, and quality personnel to ensure products meet established quality standards and customer requirements.

The QC Engineer maintains inspection documentation, supports root‑cause investigations, updates QC checklists, and contributes to process‑risk assessments such as PFMEA.

Responsibilities:

Inspection & Defect Identification

  • Identify workmanship defects, assembly issues, and nonconformances.
  • Document inspection results, defect logs, and quality findings accurately.
  • Perform inspections on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and electronic assemblies.

Corrective Action Verification

  • Support cross‑functional teams in resolving quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to production teams to prevent defect recurrence.
  • Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.

Quality Tools & Data Analysis

  • Maintain inspection records and ensure audit readiness.
  • Use basic quality tools such as Pareto charts, histograms, and check sheets.
  • Track defect trends and support quality reporting for management review.

Process & Risk Assessment

  • Participate in PFMEA activities to identify potential process risks.
  • Update QC inspection checklists based on product or process changes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen activities.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work with engineering, production, and quality teams to address issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards.
  • Support quality assurance functions as part of a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • All educational levels considered.
  • Basic knowledge of quality tools (Pareto, histograms, check sheets)
  • Experience documenting inspection results and verifying corrective actions.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in electronics manufacturing or PCBA inspection.
  • Ability to identify workmanship defects and interpret basic manufacturing specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards.
  • Experience supporting PFMEA or process‑risk assessments.
  • Experience participating in Kaizen or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience preparing quality reports or supporting root‑cause investigations.
