Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Using One Touch Inspection cards and defect samples, make determination of acceptability of products.
  • Communicate with Team Leaders, Supervisors, and process technicians with regard to defective or unacceptable parts.
  • Follow established guidelines for auditing of in-process materials, sampling standards, and use of gauging equipment.
  • Promote the advancement of quality activities within the plant, using communication skills and acquired quality knowledge, and provide feedback as required.
  • Report audit activities in a clear and concise manner, that will be used to improve the TAP process throughout the plant.
  • Recommend changes to current production and engineering practices, based on collected information and experience gained within the scope of audit duties.
  • Perform routine audits of TAP processes as directed by the Quality Manager to improve product quality and efficiency.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Possess an average to high mechanical aptitude or technical understanding.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • The ability to use and understand various types of gauging equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and general dimensional check fixtures.
  • The ability to take learned information and apply it to the audit process.
  • The ability to communicate quality expectations and requirements in a manner that promotes positive improvements.
  • A knowledge of the process and equipment is desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The ability to lift 35 lbs. to the height of approximately five (5) feet. (requires both hands)
  • The ability to squat for picking up 35 lb. totes or boxes, and lifting them to a height of five (5) feet.
  • The ability to twist in 90° positions for moving totes or boxes.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work performed in a non-air conditioned plant environment.

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
