Job description

JTEKT Automotive  - Piedmont, SC

Summary/Purpose

Include designing quality standards, inspecting material, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions and working to implement those quality measures.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.

  • Lead APQP activities and creation of PPAP's
  • Lead and manage customer issues, complaints and corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement through Kaizen
  • Support product validation, receiving inspection, calibration, and testing programs
  • Works in a team environment
  • Supports IATF 16949:2016 auditing and compliance
  • Guide metrology specialist in measurement systems and GD&T
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Leadership and team abilities with multi-cultural groups
  • Experience with reading and interpreting Engineering drawings
  • Highly motivated, high energy with a positive outlook
  • Experience in problem solving skills (i.e., 8D, 5Why, etc.) using a variety of statistical and root cause analysis tools and is hands-on throughout the process
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with internal and external customers
  • Experience with lean production concepts and tools
  • Flexible working hours, overtime and travel as required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred or Technical Associates degree with equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 4+ years of experience in a quality environment (automotive is preferred)
  • High proficiency in GD&T knowledge
