Mankiewicz Coatings LLC is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Associate to join our team in beautiful Charleston, SC. This role will ensure quality of raw materials and outgoing products.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Full compliance for all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to department and job functions in cooperation with assigned team.
  • Quality management as well as adherence to all company policy and procedure.
  • Adhere to daily work load and daily priority list (e.g. production schedule) determined by QC Supervisor in cooperation with assigned team.
  • Full compliance and maintenance per policy and procedure for all equipment and instruments (e.g. calibration) in cooperation with assigned team.
  • Product service and maintenance in cooperation with assigned team and QC global:
    • Consideration of the environment and occupational safety throughout job functions.
    • Optimal applications engineering.
    • Report deviation of QC cards to lab.
    • Proper testing of product to ensure conformance to defined specifications to include new material and recertification.
  • Effective internal communications within assigned team as well as with all relevant departments and management (local and global).
  • Mandatory and proper use of internal computer programs (e.g. SAP.)
  • Lean Management / 5S
    • Pay attention to department work area and job functions reporting immediately all health and safety observations or opportunities as well as any other opportunities for improvement (e.g. work flow, processes).
    • Maintain a clean, organized and efficient work area.
  • This position includes acceptance, involvement, and performance in special projects which may come up on an as needed basis as determined by assigned team and management (local and global).
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Requires flexibility and understanding that this position may be required to perform duties outside the duties listed above in order to meet the mission and goals of Mankiewicz Coatings.
Role Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelors degree in Chemistry related field preferred.
  • Receive hazardous waste training within 6 months of initial employment, and annually thereafter in accordance with the applicable provisions of R.61-79.262.17(a)(7)(ii), (iii) and (iv)(D) of the South Carolina Hazardous Waste Management Regulations (SCHWMR).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Experience with SAP software (preferred)
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • The position requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally, including to countries and customers that may require proof of vaccination.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for 8 hours per day.
