What does a quality control associate do?

A Quality Control Associate is responsible for ensuring that products meet established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance. They conduct inspections, perform tests, and document their findings to identify defects or deviations from specifications. Quality Control Associates often work closely with production teams to address issues and help maintain compliance with industry regulations. Their role is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding the reputation of their company. They may work in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and food production.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a quality control associate?

To thrive as a Quality Control Associate, you need a solid understanding of quality assurance principles, attention to detail, and often a background in science or manufacturing. Familiarity with inspection tools, laboratory equipment, and quality management systems (such as ISO standards) is typically required, and certifications like Six Sigma or ASQ may be advantageous. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills set exceptional candidates apart. These skills ensure that products consistently meet standards, reduce errors, and support overall operational excellence.

What are some common challenges quality control associates face when ensuring product consistency across different production batches?

Quality Control Associates often encounter challenges such as variations in raw material quality, changes in manufacturing processes, and tight production schedules that can lead to inconsistencies between batches. Addressing these issues requires keen attention to detail, effective communication with production teams, and a strong understanding of standard operating procedures. Staying proactive in identifying potential sources of variation and collaborating closely with other departments helps maintain high product standards and minimizes the risk of defects.

Be the creative visionary for our team of art directors, designers, copywriters, and other creative minds. Your job? Keep them inspired and pumped to churn out top-notch work that knocks our clients' socks off.
Concept Development
Get those wheels turning with the Creative Director, strategists, designers, and copywriters. We're talking brainstorming sessions where we cook up ideas that'll make heads turn, whether it's for ads, branding, digital stuff, or social media content.
Project Execution
Whether it's a TV spot, print ad, or a social campaign, drive creative projects forward with a dedication to quality, consistency, and the "whoa that's cool" factor. Oh, and don't forget to keep that brand vibe going strong. And hey, quality control is key, so give those projects a once-over to keep things on point.

Put on a pair of headphones and get hands-on designing alongside the team. You're not just a leader in direction - you're an expert in doing and like to get your hands dirty.
Client Interaction
Hang out with our Engagement Manager and be the go-to person for our clients. Show 'em our ideas, take their feedback like a champ, and make sure they're happy campers so they stick around.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Willingness and excitement to get directly involved in the work and provide design solutions alongside the team.
  • Marketing sense and an interest in developing campaigns that can work across channels.

You'll want to read this part

  • Don't forget to include your portfolio - if there isn't a portfolio, we won't consider your application. Sounds harsh, but we get LOTS of applications.
  • If you live in Canada, are able to work here, and you are in one of these provinces: BC, AB or ON - please apply! Otherwise, we're sorry, we're not set up to support staff outside of these regions.
  • Please note: we post the same role in multiple locations to help us cast a wide net. Applying to each location for a posting will not increase your chances. Now that we've saved you some time, go do something fun!
  • This posting is for an existing vacancy for a senior creative - we are looking to fill either the ACD or CD role. This is not a prospective future role (i.e. we're saying this isn't a ghost job).

Come be a Funatic

We believe you won't perform at your best if you're not having fun. And you can't have fun if you're not performing. We believe that this creates the best client and agency relationships and is the best way to make great work.

We believe in respect, inclusivity, kindness, equity, and equality. We want to make a positive impact. We believe that collaboration is the fun part of being at work. We strive to create a culture in which "we" is more important than "me".
Apart from loving terrible fun puns, we're small and we're growing - which means you'll have a chance to make your mark and grow with us. We're also 100% remote, and that might not appeal to everyone - but if you value flexibility, it's perfect.
