Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections on residential HVAC installations, service repairs, and maintenance work.
  • Inspect furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, mini-split systems, indoor air quality equipment, humidifiers, and water heaters for proper operation and workmanship.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex HVAC and boiler issues that require advanced technical expertise.
  • Verify all work meets manufacturer specifications, company standards, local building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct startup, commissioning, and performance testing on newly installed systems.
  • Identify installation deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide coaching, training, and technical support to service technicians and installers.
  • Assist technicians in the field with difficult diagnostic and repair situations.
  • Review completed work orders, photos, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure proper refrigerant charging, airflow, combustion analysis, static pressure, electrical performance, and overall system efficiency.
  • Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and recommended improvements when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality assurance documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on new HVAC technologies, controls, equipment, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of residential HVAC service experience.
  • Extensive experience servicing and diagnosing boiler systems (gas, hydronic, and steam preferred).
  • Expert knowledge of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, zoning systems, and indoor air quality products.
  • Strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting, controls, combustion, airflow, refrigeration, and hydronic systems.
  • Proven ability to diagnose difficult system performance issues.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, installation manuals, and blueprints.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor technicians.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • NATE Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, work in attics and crawl spaces, and perform physically demanding work.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation if needed.
