Job description

Are you looking for an opportunity to deepen your quality inspection skills in a meaningful work environment that supports and protects explorers and heroes? Join our team! The Quality Control Inspector II performs detailed inspections of materials, parts, and products throughout the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards. This role involves more complex inspections and documentation, as well as providing guidance and support to junior inspectors.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed inspections of incoming parts, in-process production, and final products.
  • Document and record inspection results, including complex observations and recommendations.
  • Identify and document structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior inspectors.
  • Coordinate with production teams to address quality issues and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Use advanced inspection tools and techniques to verify product conformity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
  • Assist in the development of quality control documentation and training materials.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 1+ Years experience in Quality Control or related field, preferably in a Quality Assurance Inspector role
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Experience in mechanical inspection with proficiency in the use of basic hand measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.).
  • Proficiency in quality control principles and inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret technical schematics and drawings.
  • Experience with finished goods and In-process inspections.
  • Basic understanding of material flow in operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience with MS Office and material management systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS 9100 standards..

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Ability to obtain IPC 610 and 620 Certifications.
  • Ability to draft work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Standing for extended periods during inspections.
  • Dexterity to handle small parts and use inspection tools.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
