Job description

QA Specialist – Quality Control

Skokie/Niles, IL Area | $21/hr | Full-Time | Third Shift | Weekly Pay

Nexus Employment is hiring QA Specialists for a food manufacturing facility serving the Skokie/Niles, IL area.

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor food safety, product quality, and employee GMP practices on the manufacturing floor

  • Perform in-process quality inspections on production lines each shift

  • Check production paperwork, retain samples, lot/code dates, weights, labels, and metal detection records

  • Perform scale checks and metal detector audits

  • Place materials on hold when quality or food safety issues are identified

  • Perform changeover validations, equipment ATP swabbing, and environmental swabbing

  • Conduct allergen, glass, brittle plastic, magnet, and metal detection audits

  • Prepare retain samples and maintain QA supply inventory

  • Monitor GMP compliance and report issues

  • Conduct internal plant audits and maintain QA documentation

  • Generate maintenance work requests and train new QA team members

  • Escalate serious food safety concerns and shut down production when necessary

  • Perform additional QA duties as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma required; college education is a plus

  • At least 1 year of QA/QC or operations experience in food manufacturing

  • Basic math skills

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team
