Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Mgr - Quality Assurance manages the division quality program with the objective of maximizing customer satisfaction and reducing the cost of deficiencies. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing quality processes designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of goods consistent with established standards. They will ensure operations follow government and environmental regulations and will plan, coordinate and direct all safety/environmental activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
• Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
• Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, text, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
• Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
• Develops approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
• Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve them.
• Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
• Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
• Plays an active role on quality management teams within organization.
• Directs employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, products, processes and/or services.
• Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
• Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
• Implements and maintains government required training programs.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred
• 8+ years progressive experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
