AWC is hiring a Quality Manager for our Baltimore Fairfield location in the Curtis Bay area of Baltimore MD. This is a salaried position with a range of $65,000 to 75,000 per year that is paid weekly plus yearly Bonus eligible. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market considerations.

Summary of Position:

The Quality Manager oversees quality assurance and control processes to ensure products and services meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent balances quality assurance (preventing defects through process management) and quality control (identifying and correcting defects in products) to maintain high standards, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Tasks:

  • Quality Assurance and Control: Oversee both quality assurance (planning and implementing quality standards) and quality control (monitoring, testing, and inspecting products or services) to ensure compliance and prevent defects. Develop and enforce quality policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the organization's industry objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives in continuous improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma practices to optimize processes, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency. This includes analyzing quality data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address issues before they escalate.
  • System Management: Maintain the quality management system (QMS), ensuring alignment with standards such as ISO and other regulatory requirements. Management of documentation, audits and compliance checks to uphold internal and external quality standards.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production and supply chain, to integrate quality throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Customer and Supplier Focus: Evaluate customer feedback, complaints, and supplier performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure that products or services meet customer expectations. These groups play a key role in maintaining the organization's reputation and customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Technical experience/expertise in quality tools, standards, and methodologies (ISO).
