Job Description:

Essential Function:

Join Silfex as a Quality Inspector and be at the core of our mission for exceptional quality. In this role, you'll use your attention to detail and basic math and computer skills to ensure our products meet the highest standards. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll learn inspection procedures and grow your expertise, all while making a direct impact on customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Know and understand specification criteria and perform inspections on parts to ensure they meet specifications.

  • Understand and be able to complete all documentation requirements for inspections as performed.
  • Read and understand work instructions to determine procedure for testing.
  • Commit to ongoing development and competence of job functions.
  • Perform tasks under direct supervision during the training cycle.
  • Effectively communicate information at shift change.
  • Perform daily check on the profilometer and check calibration date on all machines.
  • Must be able to shut down and restart all machines.
  • Ability to read and understand part drawings.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and order of inspection and test stations.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to Silfex management, including the Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/or Director of Manufacturing.
  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S. Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities. Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous manufacturing Quality Assurance experience or related experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Must possess basic proficiency in operating computers, including navigating software and web-based platform
  • Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Quality and safety minded
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform successfully under supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of inspection criteria
  • Strong shop math skills
  • Microsoft Office experience (specifically Excel)
  • Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing.

B Shift: 6am - 6pm
