Job description

Job Overview
As part of the ongoing manufacturing expansion at our Center of Excellence in Portsmouth, NH, the Quality Assurance Technician plays a critical role in identifying, documenting, and communicating quality issues, leading to continuous improvement across our operations. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally to promote a culture of quality and ensure compliance with all applicable standards and product requirements at every stage of the process.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:
  • Essential Functions:
    • Perform visual and functional inspections and audits of finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards, production specifications, and customer requirements.
    • Manage and maintain the Calibration Program, including:
      • Maintaining the calibration database to ensure all equipment is calibrated within required intervals.
      • Coordinating both internal and external calibration activities with approved vendors.
      • Performing calibration and Round Robin testing on approximately 10-15 onsite meter test panels.
      • Reviewing and approving calibration data provided by contract manufacturers and issuing corresponding certificates.
    • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and support Incoming Inspection activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) materials.
    • Initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming materials and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) meetings as required.
    • Assist with compiling, reviewing and reporting customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement.

    Additional Responsibilities:
    • Develop an understanding of meter structure, manufacture, testing and repair.
    • Support Quality Engineers in investigations related to internal and external product and process nonconformances.
    • Assist in maintaining site compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and certification requirements.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    Required:
    • 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Technician within a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015-certified (or equivalent) Quality Management System.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
    • Awareness and understanding of Quality principles, methods and concepts.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

    Preferred:
    • Working knowledge of SalesForce.com, SAP and Microsoft PBI are most beneficial.
