What You’ll Do as the Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional:
The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is part of the interdisciplinary team which coordinates services and programs for youth with developmental/intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.
  • Resolution of any discrepancies or conflicts between programmatic, medial, dietary and vocational aspects (if needed) of the youth’s assessment and program.
  • Follow-up on recommendations for services, equipment or programs as identified by the functional assessment
  • Interacts directly with:
  • Clients and families - frequency varies with needs, availability of client, and level of intensity (several times per week to weekly and may include availability in the evenings and weekends).
  • Residential therapists, physicians, and other employees involved in the case.
  • Community agencies and providers such as: court, schools, health care providers, referrals sources, and other services.
  • Caseload expectations will take into account training, case complexity, level of frequency, and/or other assigned duties.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • BA/BS Social Work/Counseling/Psychology or a related field required.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work/Counseling or a related field preferred.
  • One year experience in a social service setting working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
