This role is critical to scaling Moonshot's manufacturing and engineering operations while maintaining a strong culture of safety, accountability, and process excellence. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering & Production, the QHSE Manager will drive safety protocol implementation, monitor organizational performance indicators, oversee ISO 9001 maintenance, and lead high-level process standardization efforts across the company. This leader will partner cross-functionally to ensure Moonshot operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with our commitment to operational excellence.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the rollout, implementation, and continuous improvement of Moonshot's organization-wide safety protocols and compliance initiatives.
  • Proactively lead risk assessments for new production and operational endeavors.
  • Promote adherence to safety standards, including PPE requirements, lifting protocols, hazard mitigation, and safe operational practices across all facilities and teams.

  • Develop and maintain safety training programs, audits, inspections, and compliance documentation to ensure regulatory and internal standard adherence.
  • Manage the Quality Assurance function, including direct oversight of the Quality Assurance Manager and alignment of quality initiatives across the organization.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Moonshot's ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including audits, documentation control, corrective actions, and certification readiness.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Production, Operations, and Leadership teams to embed quality and safety principles into day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in QHSE, manufacturing operations, safety management, or quality systems leadership within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements, safety compliance programs, incident investigation, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Experience managing and maintaining ISO 9001 quality systems, including internal audits, corrective actions, and certification processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive accountability across multiple departments and operational teams.
  • Experience developing SOPs, operational processes, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Preferred certifications include OSHA 30, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent credentials.
