Providing over 37,000 deliveries a week from 25 strategically located distribution centers, the QCD fleet averages more than 40 million miles driven per year. QCD associates also help run a national non-profit, the GSF Foundation.

Transportation Supervisor – Minneapolis, MN

In This Role, You’ll:
  • Oversee and optimize daily transportation activities, including route analysis, delivery performance, and staffing needs (25%)
  • Schedule and manage equipment and personnel to meet delivery demands, including special or supplemental orders (20%)
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance providers for timely repairs (15%)
  • Coach and support team members through performance evaluations, feedback, and daily motivation (20%)
  • Enforce company policies and resolve employee issues in a union environment (10%)
 
What You’ll Bring:
  • 3+ years of transportation or food distribution experience, including supervisory roles
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, driver safety, routing software, and logistics reporting
  • Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills - you know how to lead through complexity
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, drivers, and external partners
  • Work in a temperature-controlled warehouse  - dry, chill, and freezer zones
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (but not required); management or operations-related fields a plus
  • Experience working in unionized environments strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed and work onsite in a 24/7 operation
 
 
Skill and ability to:
  • Supervise a diverse workforce of up to 100 employees Resolve and report delivery issues between drivers and customers: other customer service issues
  • Supervise and motivate employees in a team-based environment Interpret transportation operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions
  • Prepare administrative and technical documents and reports
  • Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
  • Travel via airplane and drive an automobile
  • Act in accordance with GSF’s Values and Creed
 
The Schedule & Setting:
  • Full-time, on-site supervisory role in a temperature-controlled warehouse
  • Wednesday to Saturday 
  • Supports a 24/7 operation with flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Leads a large-scale transportation team focused on safety, reliability, and service
 
Pay & Benefits:
  • Pay commensurate with experience + Bonus Eligible.  Pay Range:  77K - 85K.
