Job Summary
TS Tech Americas, Inc. (TSAM) is a leading global automotive tier one supplier with 72 locations in 14 countries. We have an immediate need for a Strategic Buyer in our Reynoldsburg, Ohio corporate office. This position is on-site in Reynoldsburg, Ohio location.
Position summary:
Associate must execute purchasing activities for new model programs and mass production such as part cost change analysis, cost reduction promotion, VAVE promotion, evaluation and approval, but not limited to these examples. Also includes parts maker-layout promotion and analysis using QCDDM. Support and execute strategies that will help the company achieve the most competitive parts pricing.
Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, purchasing, engineering, technical product, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Basic understanding of business concepts, including cost, pricing, purchasing, supplier relationships, and business communication.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to organize, review, and work with business data.
• Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint to prepare clear presentations, summaries, and business updates for internal stakeholders.
• Purchasing, procurement, sourcing, cost analysis, supplier management, or related business experience preferred.
• Automotive, manufacturing, or technical product experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review cost data, supplier information, and business impacts to support purchasing decisions.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-up, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, support negotiation activity, and build strong working relationships with suppliers, internal departments, and group companies.
• Ability to adjust communication approach based on the audience and situation to support effective working relationships and business outcomes.
• Consistent professionalism, resilience, and adaptability in daily work and business interactions.
• Ability to take initiative and apply a solution-focused approach to support effective problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Ability to support multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and respond to questions or requests in a timely manner.
• Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

• Execute projects and themes as assigned to help achieve section and department business plan targets.
• Initiate and promote innovative ideas to reduce cost and improve efficiency for assigned suppliers.
• Have thorough understanding of assigned suppliers QCD characteristics.
• May require coordination and communication with planning, quality and production personnel at TS Tech Group companies.
• Provide information to pertinent questions in a timely manner.
• Support supplier QCD improvement activities.
• Interact with planning groups within TSAM.
• Contribute cost perspectives to new designs and ideas or changes to current ideas.
• Interact with planning groups within TSAM appropriately.
• Work with other divisions and/or group companies to understand process flow and propose changes to ensure cost effectiveness.
• Promote CCR Purchasing strategies to suppliers.
• Utilize cost table to negotiate supplier cost based on assigned commodity.
• Promote innovative ideas to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
• Continuous learning in regard to the materials and services required for assigned commodities.
• Analyze and understand the impact of past programs and practices on upcoming programs.
• Actively coordinate/participate correlation activities and generate CR ideas. Provide support in CR activity according to schedule.
• Become familiar with the group company processes and activities.
• Conduct competitive product analysis and comparisons, and propose strategies to reduce cost.
• Represent the company in a professional manner to other group companies and to the community.
• Gain consensus with stakeholders as required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Environmental conditions - Open office environment. May be exposed to moderate noise levels.
• Vocal Communication - Required to express or exchange ideas by means of concise (clear, correct and timely) discussion with coworkers, customers, suppliers, etc.
• Hearing Perception - Ability to recognize information at normal spoken levels and/or ability to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or make fine distinctions in sound.
• Sensory Utilization - Prepare and analyze written or computer data.
• Physical Activities - Required to stand, walk and sit, as well as using hands to pick up, handle or feel objects. May occasionally reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Visual Acuity - There are no special vision requirements.
• It is an essential function of this position that the Associate be on the work site in person to perform their job duties throughout each scheduled work week. TSAM operates most effectively with the kind of teamwork, personal interaction, and supervision that cannot be achieved in a home office environment.
