Hemodialysis Floor Nurse – Job Description

Work Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Position Overview

The Hemodialysis Floor Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily dialysis operations, providing direct patient care, and managing clinical and administrative functions. This role ensures high-quality patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and effective coordination with facility leadership and physicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of dialysis staff and daily operations
  • Ensure safe, high-quality patient care and address patient concerns
  • Manage staffing schedules, patient census, supplies, and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with ESRD regulations, QAPI standards, and company policies
  • Participate in policy development and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and coach dialysis personnel
  • Maintain accurate medical, operational, and billing records
  • Collaborate with Medical Directors, physicians, and facility administration
  • Review and approve timesheets, expenses, and required reports
  • Maintain on-site presence during scheduled work hours

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the state of practice
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including at least 6 months in hemodialysis
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently, lead teams, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and leadership skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical activities
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted
