DavinWorks Workforce Solutions is hiring experienced QA/QC Field Inspectors for a large-scale data-center construction project in Michigan City, Indiana.
This is a hands-on field position—not an office-only documentation role. You will spend most of your time in active construction areas, using the required inspection tools, evaluating electrical installations, collecting information firsthand, documenting deficiencies, and verifying corrective work. We need professionals who can hit the ground running; this is not a trainee position. If your QA/QC experience is primarily desk-based, this role is not a fit.
What You Will Do
· Conduct daily field inspections of electrical installations.
· Compare installed work against drawings, specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer instructions, project quality standards, and applicable electrical codes.
· Inspect switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, busway, feeders, raceways, cable tray, grounding and bonding, labeling, and terminations.
· Verify equipment installation, conductor preparation, torque requirements, phase identification, clearances, workmanship, and installation completeness.
· Review and document electrical torque, megger, continuity, grounding, and voltage-testing activities.
· Create clear inspection reports, punch-list items, deficiency notices, photographs, and quality-control records using project software.
· Communicate deficiencies directly and professionally to electricians, foremen, superintendents, and project leadership.
· Reinspect corrected work and track deficiencies through final closure.
· Support energization readiness, pre-functional testing, commissioning, turnover, and final project documentation.
· Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of inspected work in English.
Minimum Qualifications
· Five or more years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience.
· At least two years performing dedicated electrical QA/QC, field inspection, commissioning support, electrical supervision, or equivalent quality-control responsibilities. Actual QA/QC experience is required, not just electrical installation experience.
· Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
· Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, submittals, installation details, and manufacturer requirements.
· Ability to write clear, defensible inspection reports and punch-list items.
· Demonstrated ability to read and write English proficiently.
· Strong leadership skills and the ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced environment.
· Reliable transportation and ability to satisfy project-specific background, drug-screening, and safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Forma is a huge asset.
· Experience with CX Planner or CX Alloy is highly preferred.
· Active or previously held Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
· Previous data-center electrical QA/QC experience.
· Commissioning or energization-readiness experience.
· OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E training.
· Experience completing inspection and test plans, torque logs, test reports, punch lists, deficiency logs, and turnover packages.
The Right Candidate
You are an experienced electrical professional who:
· Knows what compliant, complete, and high-quality electrical work looks like.
· Can independently walk an assigned area and identify deficiencies.
· Supports every finding with a drawing, specification, code, approved submittal, or manufacturer requirement.
· Communicates firmly and professionally without creating unnecessary conflict.
· Follows deficiencies through correction and verified closure.
· Will not approve or sign documentation for work you did not personally verify.
How to Apply
Submit a résumé that clearly identifies:
1. Data-center or mission-critical projects where you performed electrical QA/QC.
2. The electrical systems you personally inspected.
3. The reports, testing records, punch lists, or turnover packages you personally completed.
4. Your electrical licenses, certifications, and quality-control software experience (especially ACC/Forma and CX Planner/Alloy).
5. Your earliest potential start date.
Candidates whose experience is limited to electrical installation, with no demonstrated inspection, documentation, or deficiency-management experience, will not qualify for this position.
