Job Title: QA Tech I

Reports to: Head of QA

Location: Lewisville, TX  

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Range: $18-$22/hr DOE

Position Summary: 

Perform Quality Assurance (QA) functions mostly on the Production floor.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Verify that product quality meets minimum requirements. Product weight, temperature, appearance, accuracy of labels, room temperature to name a few
  • Monitor manufacturing and storage conditions
  • Accurately complete daily reports in a timely manner
  • Perform and document monitoring procedures, corrective actions as necessary for the HACCP or Food Safety and Quality Plans
  • Work and communicate in a professional manner with Operations and USDA
  • Follow and enforce all Food Safety & Quality rules and regulations, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation SOPs and other pre-requisite programs
  • Hold raw materials or finished products when needed
  • Other duties assigned by the QA Manager

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in English in both oral and written
  • Proficiency in Spanish in both oral and written
  • Prior experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing industry
  • Actively listens and communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms, adapting to the audience as needed
  • Performs simple calculations accurately to support work tasks
  • Service orientation and willingness to assist others
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work onsite (remote work is not an option)
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis at the time the employment begins and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred

  • College degree in Food Science, Nutritian or related field

Work Environment and Workplace:

  • Work is primarily performed in an environment, including office, lab, kitchen, manufacturing, and warehouse settings
  • The role may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, regular exposure to conditions such as hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and confined spaces depending on job duties
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate
  • The work environments may include exposure to food ingredients and cleaning agents 

Physical Requirement:

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or move for extended periods
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements to operate food processing, packaging, or sanitation equipment
  • Safely handle raw materials, ingredients, finished products, and packaging materials in a production setting
