Job Description:
  • We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for a contract position.
  • The ideal candidate has great communication skills, can remove roadblocks, detail oriented, and has a knack for breaking websites.
  • QAE's regularly work with Developers, Product Managers and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment.
  • During the development cycle, QAEs identify use cases, create test cases, execute tests, and report results.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 0-2 years industry experience testing software, including website applications.
  • Ability to travel to rental labs and test in various environment
  • Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Contractor is expected to travel to the sites on their own.
Typical Day in the Role:
Typical task breakdown and rhythm
  • Assigned a certain task, mostly on the testing front. They will be assigned a feature.
  • Work with QA lead to understand what the feature/ task is
  • Testing android based software stack
  • Using the robot to set it up in a home environment and run the test as an end using customer
  • Collect results the end of the day.
  • Find bugs whenever they see out of the ordinary behavior
  • Send out email reports for the feature
Interaction with team/Day to Day:
  • Work with product team to get the requirements and work closely w/ development team on a daily basis to support and provide the FB on future development.
Training/ Ramp- up
  • Most of use cases are end user customers so this contractor will be trained for the first 1-2 weeks on use cases, how the functionality is behaved in the background and how to collect/ generate logs, generate data to find bugs/ how to report the bug.
