HME is recruiting for a Senior Software QA Engineer - Cloud. In this role, under minimal supervision, support the testing, correction/modification, and quality assurance of products under development as well as existing products (containing Software or Firmware). Work on assignments or lead projects that are moderate to complex in difficulty, requiring judgment in resolving issues and in making recommendations. Perform complex tasks to develop and apply functional, system, integration, regression test requirements on products and for reporting on test results. Develop test plans, write test cases and procedures, execute test cases, file bugs, and develop automatic test programs and scripts. Perform analysis and documents test results. May lead a team to verify the designed products for compliance with the product requirement and functional specifications, and to see the product through from conception to release.
Key Responsibilities
  • Software Quality Assurance
    • Guide a test team from project conception to delivery.
    • Define test strategies and test approaches for a project.
    • Develop test plans that cover functional, regression, performance, load, smoke, and deployment testings.
    • Design, develop, maintain, execute, and report on test cases for various product releases.
    • Perform gray-box testing of released products or products under development to reveal design and implementation problems.
    • Define and perform functional, system, integration and regression tests at component and system levels.
    • Use test tools such as debuggers, emulators, and simulators to test software applications to validate them.
    • Become thoroughly acquainted with current and future HME products.
    • Use bug tracking systems to track the life cycle of bugs.
    • Develop and maintain quality engineering processes and initiatives within the department.
    • Develop automation programs and scripts, and software utilities to assist in the testing process.
  • Triage and Remediation of Bugs in Cloud Software and Firmware
    • Investigate problem issues with new and existing products containing Cloud software or firmware reported by Sales,
    • Marketing, Service, or Engineering.
    • Work with development engineers to decide on an approach for reproducing a reported bug.
    • Work independently, consulting with more experienced engineers, to determine the root cause of reported bugs.
    • Document procedures for reproducing the known issues with released software/firmware products and possible workarounds.
  • Performs all other job responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

    • Capable of C/C++/C# coding for both host and cross compiler based applications.
    • Familiar with Microsoft Azure, real-time multitasking operating systems and capable of testing them.

    • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets and database software applications.
    • Proficient in testing user interfaces.
    • Proficient in communication and writing skills.
    • Able to learn new skills for Cloud software, PC and embedded applications.

The posted pay range $94,800 - $126,400 is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. This may vary depending on experience and other factors. Our benefits package includes tuition reimbursement; 3 weeks paid vacation your first year, paid holidays, medical, vision, and dental coverage, pet insurance, life insurance, and 401K contributions.
