We are hiring! We are currently searching for a Quality Assurance Managerto join our team!

The Company: Ericson Manufacturing engineers and manufactures temporary power, lighting and safety electrical products for your workplace. Family owned and operated since 1918, our mission is to safeguard your jobsite with quality and innovative solutions with a commitment to safety, ease of use and reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the day-to-day operation of the quality department, including supervising and training of quality inspectors.
  • Performing or supervising receiving inspections, In-process or finished goods inspections, first article inspections, RGA (Returned Goods Authorization) inspections.
  • Administers / supervises the Material Review Board (MRB) to disposition non-conforming materials.
  • Creates inspection plans for new parts with assistance from Engineering.
  • Administers the Corrective Action Request (CAR) procedure of the company ISO9000 system.
  • Hosts the UL, CSA, and ETL (NRTL) follow-up services inspectors when they visit.
  • Take on the role of Management Representative for the ISO9000 system.
  • Work as required with our Product Team and NRTLs to achieve agency certification of new products, or new certification of existing products.
  • Set up and run an accredited agency lab in our facility to participate in the Client Data Test program with UL and similar programs with CSA and ETL. Run the lab per the requirements of ISO 17025 and host the annual/semi-annual audits from NRTLs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize Black Belt toolsets to improve the quality system and champion continuous improvement projects.
  • Responsible for measuring and reporting of Quality metrics.
  • Analyze Customer Complaint Records (CCRs) for trending and process improvement activities.
  • Responsible for reducing the amount of Variance Notices received from NRTLs.
  • Reviews and authorizes new supplier addition. Assists in annual supplier evaluations.
  • Manages external service contracts for the Quality department including responsibility for ISO calibration process.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:

    • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or 3-5 yearsโ€™ experience in in manufacturing leadership roles with demonstrated ability to acquire and apply quality principles
    • Minimum of 3 years work experience in quality assurance / quality control
    • ISO 9001 experience is preferred.
    • Experience in an electrical product industry desirable
    • Prior responsibility for the supervision of personnel is highly recommended
    • Familiarity with any or all of UL153, UL496, UL498, UL1088, UL943, UL1640, and various related CSA equivalent standards are highly desirable.
