Job description

Role Summary:

The Director ofย QA GMPย Operationsย is responsibleย forย managementย ofย GMP quality within ourย externalย manufacturing operationsย globallyย and internal GMP operationsย for development and commercialย programs.ย The Director will also work closely with internal business stakeholders as well as internal Quality function to deliver outcomesย to advance programs within compliance.ย ย The Directorย is responsible forย oversight ofย QAย activitiesย andย ensuring the quality of deliverables within the role's purview.ย ย 

This is an onsite role based in Waltham, MA.

ย 
Primary Responsibilitiesย Include:ย 

  • Management ofย external quality operations in support of GMP manufacturing (clinicalย andย commercial) activities.ย 
  • Manage deviations, OOS and OOTs investigations while adhering to cGMP principles and ICH guidelines.ย 
  • Review batch records, analytical method reports and technical reports including regulatory sections of IND/IMPD and BLA/MAAs.ย 
  • QA supportย ofย Tech Transfer and Process Validation activities.ย 
  • Disposition ofย GMPย batchesย and interfacing with the Qualified Person (QP).ย 
  • Changeย management to ensure proper evaluation ofย manufacturing and testingย related changesย byย Quality, Regulatory, and Subject Matter Experts.ย 
  • Manageย CDMO performanceย withinย Quality Agreement expectationsย and GMP compliance.ย ย 
  • Driveย continuousย improvementย andย inspectionย readiness.ย ย 
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure pre-approval inspection and commercial readiness activitiesย areย completedย at the CDMOsย and internally.ย ย 
  • Adjudicate onย compliance discussions and negotiate any required corrective actions.ย 
  • Create and foster a culture of collaboration and engagement for advancing quality outcomes and operational excellence.ย 

Education and Skills Requirements:ย 

  • Minimum of a BA/BS degreeย 
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experienceย in GMP Quality Operationsย in aย clinical late stage and/or commercial biotechnologyย companyย 
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams with an ability to influence teams to prioritize activities andย allocateย resourcesย without direct authorityย 
  • Experience implementing andย utilizingย various outsourcing and support modelsย 
  • Experience withย disposition ofย product batches and interfacing with aย Qualified Personย (QP)ย 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including well-developed presentation skillsย 
  • Excellent organizational skillsย andย ability to manage multiple prioritiesย 
  • Strong collaborationย and interpersonalย skills to effectively interact with internal or external stakeholders at all levels in the organizationย 
  • General business management knowledge to assess the impact of project decisions on financial and corporate objectivesย 
  • Ability to driveย timelines, meet firmย deadlines,ย and adapt quickly to changing requirements and prioritiesย
