NWD specializes in facilities maintenance, management, and operations support, delivering reliable, mission-aligned services that ensure smooth day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure resilience. Services include: base operations support services; facilities management/maintenance (MEP, etc.); landscaping, janitorial & pest control; environmental support (waste management, exposure assessments, etc.); safety and quality management; training & records management; IT data center management; safeguards, security & access controls; equipment maintenance; logistics and materials management.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, the incumbent serves as a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist, providing QA services for the infrastructure contract scope of work to help in maintaining compliance with customer QA requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Perform Issue Tracking System data management and reporting.
  • Perform Supplier Evaluations as assigned and in accordance with implementing procedures.
  • Perform and support assessments as assigned and in accordance with implementing procedures.
  • Perform receipt inspections in accordance with implementing procedures.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports as identified and track to closure.
  • Perform fact findings and causal analyses as assigned and in accordance with implementing procedures.
  • Review Work Orders and Purchase Requisitions to ensure proper flow down of QA requirements.
  • Serve as the OPEX Program Coordinator in accordance with implementing procedure.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, applied science or technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience implementing QA program requirements (e.g., project management, regulatory compliance monitoring, quality control, quality inspections, operations, maintenance).
  • Training and experience in auditing to a recognized industry quality standard (e.g., ISO 9001).

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with data entry and use of web-based applications (databases).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and use of error prevention techniques.

Special Requirements:
  • Must be a citizen of the United States and authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a government vehicle.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an "L" Department of Energy security clearance, if requested.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous U.S. Department of Energy QA experience and knowledge of DOE O 414.1 is highly preferred.
  • Previous ISO 9001:2015 experience preferred.
  • NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification or other nationally recognized quality program certification in auditing (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Quality Engineer) desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to meet the physical capacity requirements of this position as determined by the Occupational Medical Provider.
  • Able to wear company-provided personal protection equipment if/when required.
  • Must be able and willing to work in a radiological facility.
  • Must be willing to work in the field as needed to support projects.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work is conducted both indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is normally mild to moderate. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, machinery, and vehicles. The employee must be able to stand for long periods and walk across uneven terrain.
