Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (SDET) – JavaScript | Selenium | API Testing | Banking (W2 candidates only)
 
Location - Dallas, Pittsburgh, Denver
Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in JavaScript, Selenium, API Testing, SQL, CI/CD DevOps, and experience working in the Banking/Financial Services domain. Experience with the Karate Framework and IGNITE platform is highly preferred. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test solutions that ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for web, API, and backend applications.

  • Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium and JavaScript.

  • Develop and execute API automation tests using Karate Framework or similar tools.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and define test strategies.

  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to validate backend data and ensure data integrity.

  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

  • Continuously improve automation frameworks, testing processes, and quality standards.

  • Support production releases by validating deployments and performing smoke testing.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in QA Automation or Software Development in Test (SDET).

  • Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript.

  • Experience developing automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver.

  • Expertise in API Testing using REST APIs, SOAP, Postman, or similar tools.

  • Hands-on experience with Karate Framework.

  • Strong SQL skills for database validation and backend testing.

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Experience with Git and version control systems.

  • Excellent debugging and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.

  • Knowledge of the IGNITE platform or framework.

  • Programming experience in Java and/or Python.

  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Knowledge of performance and security testing is a plus.
