Job description


Primoris Services Corporation
is a leading provider of critical infrastructure services to the utility, energy, and renewables markets throughout the United States and Canada.

Q3 Contracting (Q3C), a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a publicly owned and operated construction contracting company that provides both specific and turnkey services for its customers in the gas, oil, electric and telecommunications industry. We are headquartered in Minnesota, with branch offices in Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

We are actively hiring laborers to perform potholing using vacuum excavation equipment for both hydro and air. This position requires a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. While not required, a CDL is preferred for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely locate and expose underground utilities per site plans and markings.
  • Operate various construction and excavation tools (e.g., shovels, probes).
  • Read and interpret utility locate markings and utility maps.
  • Maintain accurate records of potholing locations and findings.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including traffic control where required.
  • Assist with general labor duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Inspect and maintain potholing equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Prior experience in potholing, excavation, or utility locating (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of underground utility systems and safety practices.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus).
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor daily.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience operating vacuum trucks or hydro-excavation equipment.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Familiarity with utility locating technologies

Compensation and Benefits: 

Q3 Contracting provides competitive market pay, with a comprehensive benefit package that includes:

  • Pay rate determined by union. Additional compensation for a class A CDL with a tanker endorsement.
  • Competitive compensation paid weekly.
