Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a commodity-based trading environment (trading, risk, analytics, commercial, or market analysis)
  • University degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or another quantitative discipline
  • Experience using Python and/or R for data wrangling, modeling, and automation
  • Knowledge of North America physical refined products markets and logistics
  • Working knowledge of financial and physical trading instruments such as forwards, futures, swaps, and options
  • Ability to consistently translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for traders and risk

Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and communicate short- to medium-term views for North American gasoline, distillate, and jet-including balances, inventory dynamics, and key dislocations
  • Analyze historical relationships and forecast market behavior, integrating real-time operational intelligence, inventory signals, and global trade flows into clear market narratives
  • Develop refinery-oriented views on run rates, constraints, yields, and margins; link these drivers to expected price structure and volatility
  • Collaborate with analysts across regions to share insights, align narratives, and contribute to weekly discussions on refined products fundamentals and trade opportunities and risks
  • Design, develop, and support tools to monitor seasonality trends, location differentials, and refining margins across key global regions
  • Track global cargo flows and expected imports/exports to anticipate regional tightness/length
  • Monitor policy, regulatory, and energy-transition developments that impact refined product demand, blending economics, and pricing

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of the Houston office, located at 2 Allen Centre, 1200 Smith St
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
