Job Description:
Currently seeking an IT Strategist Java Developer for a Hybrid position (3-4 days onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in New York, NY.

This role involves both development and production support for a high-performance algorithmic trading platform. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating directly with the trading desk to develop and enhance new and existing algorithmic trading models while ensuring platform stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform development and production support for an Algorithmic trading platform
  • Work closely with the trading desk to develop new and expand existing algo trading models
  • Ensure production support of the platform and handle business as usual requests from the desk
  • Contribute to trading projects and develop required features
  • Provide a best-in-class production-capable environment for the electronic trading system, including data center operations, business continuity, application development, deployment, and support
  • Analyze new ideas and requirements for development in collaboration with traders and quantitative researchers
  • Maintain and improve the trading application, including new features, algorithms, enhancements, and performance optimization
  • Implement algorithms in line with compliance and regulations
  • Monitor the trading platform to ensure stability and proper function
  • Interact with Market Access, IT Infrastructure, Operations, and Compliance teams

Requirements:

  • 5 - 10 years of relevant industry experience with development in Java
  • Experience with supporting production platforms and interacting directly with business users
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues to determine their cause at the code, network, operating system, or firewall level

Desired skills:

  • Prior experience with C++ is preferred
  • Experience with algorithm programming and low-latency systems is a plus
