Skill: Test Lead - DB and API Testing
 
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:
 
Domain & Platform:
• Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on QA experience in Finastra Loan IQ 
 .• Core knowledge of the Loan IQ Data Model, tables, and schema 
 .• Strong functional understanding of the commercial loan lifecycle, including syndicated/bilateral loans, drawdowns, fee management, accruals, and repayments 
 
Database Testing:
• Advanced SQL scripting skills (complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, data profiling) 
 .• Backend data validation for CRUD operations and transactional integrity 
 .• Experience working with relational databases like Oracle SQL or MS SQL Server 
• ETL testing experience (source-to-target mapping validation) 
 .• Knowledge of database performance optimization or stored procedures.
 
API Testing:
• Robust hands-on experience in testing RESTful and SOAP APIs using Postman or SoapUI 
 .• Validation of API status codes, response payloads, headers, error handling, and authorization tokens 
• API test automation using RestAssured (Java) or Python requests 
 
QA Methodology & Automation:
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and bug life cycle tracking in Jira or Zephyr 
 .• Manual and automated regression testing experience.
• Basic hands-on automation framework knowledge utilizing Java / Selenium WebDriver or Python 
 .• Basic exposure to CI/CD pipeline triggers (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions) 
 
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Test Design & Planning: Design, write, and execute detailed test cases mapping to business specifications for commercial lending workflows in Loan IQ 
• Database & Integrity Validation: Write and execute complex SQL queries directly against the Loan IQ database to ensure backend ledger entries, balance updates, and operational configurations accurately mirror front-end actions 
• API Testing: Validate system integrations, APIs, and microservices powering the Loan IQ platform using manual or automated tools 
• Defect Lifecycle Management: Identify, document, and track software defects in Jira, collaborating closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues 
• Agile Participation: Actively participate in Sprint Ceremonies (Daily Standups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Retrospectives) to ensure quality gates are maintained throughout
