Job description

One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a QA Automation Engineer who will convert business and functional requirements into reliable automated tests and reusable automation components. The engineer must be able to work independently in an existing automation framework, create new coverage, troubleshoot failures, manage test data, validate APIs and persistence, and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Translate BRDs, Functional Requirements (FRs), user stories, acceptance criteria, and defects into automated Test Scenarios and Test Cases
  • Create maintainable automation components including fixtures, Page Objects, API clients, data factories, utilities, and reusable assertions.
  • Debug failed tests and determine whether the root cause is application code, automation code, environment, configuration, network, or test data.
  • Create and maintain reliable test data, cleanup routines, and parallel-safe test execution.
  • Participate in code reviews, defect triage, test planning, regression execution, and release validation.
  • Link automated coverage and execution evidence to Azure DevOps work items/Test Plans where required.
Required Skills
  • QA/testing experience: +5 years
  • Hands-on test automation development experience: +2 years
  • Strong Playwright or Selenium experience
  • Strong UI automation and REST API automation experience.
  • Strong understanding of test design, negative testing, boundary testing, role/access testing, and regression testing.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative code review
  • Experience running automation in CI/CD pipelines
Highly desired Skills
  • Experience creating reusable fixtures, Page Objects, API clients, test-data factories, and custom reporting.EE
  • Advanced Playwright + TypeScript experience.
  • Experience with parallel execution and worker-safe test design.
  • Experience combining UI, API, and database validation in a single business workflow.
  • Docker/container familiarity, performance-testing exposure, or accessibility-testing exposure.
