SDET Engineer (Onsite) Reston, VA

Multiple applications related to Collateral Underwriting. Doing automation of applications on prem. Migrating apps from on-prem to AWS. Solid development and automation experience – typically SDET folks. Both manual and automation testing. API Automation. AWS Data Structures experience highly desired – DynamoDB, RDS, etc. Java / Python Programming exp needed – Any 1 – Programming level, not just scripting. Frameworks – Selenium / Cucumber. Creating XMLs and submitting them to API and getting results.

The Collateral Underwriting team is looking for a Automation Testing resource to support upcoming releases as we enhance current business functionality and transition to AWS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with team members on understanding/developing test frameworks and write tests to automate application testing in high impact areas
  • Write and run automation and test scripts, author test plans and execute test cases
  • Debug and respond to test failures, continuously monitor test coverage, and apply testing roadmap and strategy to new product initiatives
  • Perform manual testing as a prequel to automation or where automation is not applicable
  • Create, modify and maintain necessary test data, including XML and JSON formats
  • Effectively communicate the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or a related field.
  • 5+ yrs of previous experience building test automation software
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
  • Expertise with automated testing tools such as Selenium, JMeter or similar
  • Experience with JUnit and Cucumber
  • Expertise with relational (Oracle)
  • Exposure to AWS Cloud and unstructured databases (such as DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, RedShift)
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries to inspect data and provide reports
