Overview

At eimagine, we know that your best work happens when you live your best life and share your unique talents, so we do everything we can to be intentional in a remote enabled environment to make that possible. Recognized as a Best Places to Work since 2015, we are a team of humbly confident people who are proud of their craft, continuous learners, and have been known to cheer loudly for our teammates. For over 25 years we have been helping clients navigate technology and business change, while staying committed to delivering value and outcomes that enable their success.

Due to our growth, we are seeking a SharePoint & Purview Governance Analyst to gather and document business requirements, configure and implement solutions on SharePoint Online, and design and maintain information governance, security, and compliance frameworks across Microsoft 365 - with a focus on SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview. Are you ready to eimagine better and partner with our clients to create business value through IT solutions?

Description of Duties

  • Gather and analyze client business requirements, documenting required functionality and uncovering undocumented needs through gap analysis.
  • Configure and implement SharePoint Online solutions - new site builds, hubs, Teams, Viva, Power Automate flows, and no-code Power Apps.
  • Support SharePoint migrations, including on-premises to online, preserving metadata, permissions, and retention.
  • Assess current-state SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments and develop governance roadmaps, standards, and operating models.
  • Design SharePoint information architecture - site/hub structures, navigation, metadata, and managed metadata (term store) taxonomies.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Purview: sensitivity and retention labels/policies, DLP, records management, and data lifecycle management.
  • Implement Purview compliance solutions such as eDiscovery, Communication Compliance, Insider Risk Management, and Information Barriers.
  • Establish governance controls for site provisioning, permissions, external sharing, and content lifecycle across SharePoint, Microsoft 365 Groups, and Teams.
  • Automate governance and administrative tasks using PowerShell (PnP, SharePoint Online Management Shell) and Microsoft Graph.
  • Monitor compliance posture via Purview dashboards, audit logs, Content Explorer, and Activity Explorer, and produce reports and remediation recommendations.
  • Partner with security, legal, records, and compliance teams to translate policy and regulatory requirements into technical controls.
  • Develop governance documentation, standards, and runbooks, and train administrators, site owners, and end users.
  • Troubleshoot system issues through root-cause analysis and track assigned tasks and milestones using Azure DevOps or Jira.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years with SharePoint (SharePoint Online and earlier versions) in administration, architecture, or governance - as both user and configurator.
  • 3+ years hands-on with Microsoft Purview, including information protection, data lifecycle/retention, and DLP.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 information governance: sensitivity labels, retention, records management, eDiscovery, and auditing.
  • Experience designing SharePoint information architecture - managed metadata, content types, and site/hub structures.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell (PnP, SharePoint Online Management Shell) and familiarity with Microsoft Graph for automation and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (groups, conditional access, identity) as it relates to access governance.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, SOX) and how they map to Microsoft 365 controls.
  • Business Analyst experience across the SDLC, including testing and validating solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to lead governance workshops and drive consensus.
  • Preferred: Microsoft Teams and Power Platform governance, migration tools (ShareGate/Metalogix), and certifications such as SC-400, SC-900, or MS-102.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
