About the Opportunity:

As a Manufacturing Engineer I, you will contribute to process development, quality improvement, NPI, hands on manufacturing and productivity enhancement in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and standards, while developing foundational expertise in manufacturing engineering.

Location: Eastford, CT

This is a full-time role 7:00 am to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday with occasional weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing process plans with guidance from senior engineers, specifying sequence, technique, equipment, and tooling requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and sketches to ensure product compliance with customer requirements.
  • Assist in process capability study and analysis for CNC Program creation or improvements
  • Support the design, engineering and implementation of tooling for manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with shop floor associates to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen or Six Sigma to optimize processes.
  • Review and recommend modifications to customer blueprints and other documentation with supervision from senior engineers
  • Maintain compliance with Pursuit Aerospace’s quality systems, safety protocols, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience working in an AS9100 environment
  • Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and tooling design.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
