About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Grind Operator to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating precision grinding equipment to produce high-tolerance components in accordance with aerospace specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of grinding processes, shop safety, and quality assurance procedures specific to the aerospace industry.

 Location: Prescott AZ

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate a variety of precision CNC grinding machines (e.g., Rotary,ID/OD grinders).
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T specifications.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and bore gauges.
  • Maintain tight tolerances (+/- .0001”) as required by aerospace standards.
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve required finish, dimension, and surface quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on grinding machines.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with AS9100 or other relevant aerospace standards.
  • Accurately document work performed and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance personnel, and team members to resolve issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ of experience operating grinders in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques..
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and geometric tolerancing.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of grinding techniques, metallurgy, and material removal rates.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and geometric tolerancing.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and manual dexterity.

Working Conditions

  • Weekly Hours:40-50 
  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.  
  • Must be able to frequently stand and walk. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods standing 8-10 hours a day
