City: Indianapolis
Job Description:
Job Summary
Part-time Student Library Assistant
Hours possible: up to 10 hours per week. Starting at $12/ hr.
Qualifications:
Enrolled in Purdue University undergraduate level at the Indianapolis location.
Office/ public service experience is highly desirable.
Participation in the College Work Study Program is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for a Purdue Libraries Assistant include (but are not limited to): Book and Periodicals check-in, circulation duties (shelving, holds, checking in and out materials), inventory duties (scanning, shelf reading), mail delivery and moving equipment and supplies, customer service duties at the library information desk (answering phones, providing guidance, directions and answering questions), opening and closing of the library on evenings, light cleaning, and Special Projects.
Additional Expectations:
Must be willing to work evenings.
Must be able to maintain schedules in a consistent manner.
Must have the ability to work with faculty, staff and library patrons in a public service environment.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
