CAN Community Health is now hiring a Purchasing Director

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Salary: $135,365 - $169,206 annually based on experience

What You'll Do

The Purchasing Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of all procurement, sourcing, and supply chain functions across entities of the organization. This role is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, service levels, and supplier performance while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

As a senior leader, the Director partners with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align procurement strategy with organizational goals, drive operational efficiency, mitigate risk, and enhance scalability. This role leads procurement operations, vendor governance, contract strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data, systems, and best practices to deliver measurable value.

Requirements

Education/Professional:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (master's preferred).
  2. 7-10+ years of progressive procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or vendor management experience, including strategic leadership responsibilities. 
  3. Experience developing procurement programs, policies, or governance frameworks strongly preferred.
  4. Proven experience in:
  • Strategic sourcing and category management
  • Complex contract negotiation
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, government, or similar) strongly preferred.

5. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver's license.
