Job Summary:
This position willassistinthe planning, administration,student supervision,and operationsto supportRecreation& Wellbeing (Rec Well) Community Programs Department.Academic Year programs includesingle-day camps,swimlessons,American Red Cross courses,and ice skate lessons.Rec Well Summer Camp serves children ages 5-14 in a 9-week summer day camp program.
The candidate in this role mustmaintaincompliance with all federal, state, campus, and divisional youth protection policies, including completion of mandatory trainings, a Criminal Background Checkand National Sex Offender Registry check.
Specific responsibilities will bedeterminedin conjunction with the successful candidate.
  • Support daily operations of several program areas, such as swim lessons, American Red Cross programs, and Learn to Skate lessonsfor youth and adults.

  • Assistin the planning and improvement of the Rec Well Summer Camp Program.

  • May hire, train, and supervise Student Lead staff.

  • Coordinate program communication efforts through email service account(s) and phone calls.

  • DevelopSummer 2027 Camp Themes and Field Trips.

  • Assistin management ofregistrationsoftware.

  • Hire, train, andassistin the supervision of Camp Supervisors and Counselors.

  • Assistin budget development and tracking.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Engages in the Rec Well professional internship development curriculum, all staff meetings, divisional committees, and other professional development responsibilities and opportunities.
  • Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised operational policies and procedures
  • Develops targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
  • Prepares and monitors budgets and purchases expenditures as needed
  • Coordinates logistics for events and programs
  • Assists in implementing the staffing resource allocation plan including hiring, training, and supervision

$22.50/Hour
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. Some nights and weekends. Times will vary by day and there is flexibility.Average of 30 hours per week
Job Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality customer service and clearly answer program inquiries through verbal or written communication
    Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software
    Experience with recreation program administration and/or events
    Experience supervising, leading, or managing staff or peers is preferred
    Previous experience in youth programs, such as summer camp or after-school programs is preferred

Academic Professional Internship Information:
  • Internships are limited-time employments lasting 9 months or 1,040 total hours

  • Internship dates are approximate and will run mid-August 2026 to May 2027

Education:
  • HS Diploma - Required

  • Bachelor's Degree - Achieve or advancing towards Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
