Job description

Job Title: Accounting Manager

About Softrim: Softrim, LLC is a privately owned technology solutions provider with offices in Estero, Florida and Alpharetta, Georgia. The company has 100+ employees and operates as a Managed Service Provider (MSP) across a range of market segments, while also performing low voltage construction for general contractors. Our management team brings deep expertise in IT, AI solutions, structured cabling, and all low voltage systems — including specialized experience in senior living communities and various other vertical market segments.

Position Summary: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across both MSP recurring-revenue and project-based construction lines of business, ensuring accurate financials, timely closes, and sound internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounting operations using QuickBooks Enterprise (or comparable ERP/accounting software), including chart of accounts oversight and system administration
  • Own monthly and year-end close processes: journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
  • Oversee accounts receivable and invoicing across recurring MSP contracts and project-based work, refurbishment and new construction billing, including preparation and maintenance of Schedules of Values (SOV) and progress billing/pay applications (AIA G702/G703 or equivalent) for construction jobs
  • Manage A/R, A/P, and vendor relationships
  • Oversee inventory and materials purchasing for IT projects and low voltage construction projects, including job costing and tracking materials against project budgets
  • Perform project cost accounting — tracking labor, materials, and overhead against contract/project budgets, and identifying and reporting budget-to-actual variances by job/line item
  • Supervise, train, and review the work of junior accountants and bookkeeping staff; assign workload and ensure accuracy and timeliness of their output
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policies/procedures across all business lines
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for executive leadership, including budget vs. actual reporting by segment/project
  • Coordinate with external CPA/tax preparers for annual tax filings and audits
  • Ensure compliance with relevant construction accounting standards (e.g., percentage-of-completion, WIP schedules) alongside standard MSP recurring-revenue accounting
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally spanning both service/subscription-based revenue and project/construction accounting
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise or similar mid-market accounting platforms
  • Demonstrated experience with construction billing (Schedule of Values, progress billing, job costing)
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting/bookkeeping staff
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; CPA a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent job/project ledgers

Work Location: In-office at our Estero FL office (required - this is not a remote or hybrid position).

Employment Terms
  • Full-time
  • In-office
  • Exempt
  • Salary
  • eligible for benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability)
  • 401(k) after introductory period
  • Typical business hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding company-observed holidays.
