Summary
As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, services, and will be responsible for managing vendors relationships. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals, and find more profitable suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
  • Ability to make Purchasing decisions and bring innovative ideas for continual process improvement.
  • Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Review Purchase orders for accuracy and completeness while running MRP.
  • Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
  • Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
  • Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Acts as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Directs Purchasing Reps to maintain the desired efficiency and quantity of vendor relations and initiatives/goals align with overall company direction.
  • Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
  • Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and equipment.
  • Develops annual budget and manage operations cost
  • Communicate with Operations Manager and HR Recruiter for staffing needs.
  • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintains employee attendance and vacation records accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Exceptional ability to direct and lead team to ensure on time delivery of components.
  • Provides effective leadership and guidance that encourages teamwork operation processes, continuous improvement, and employee empowerment
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • At least five years of experience in a purchasing manager or procurement manager role.

Computer/Software Skills:
  • Basic use of computers and email
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prior ERP experience preferred

Working Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM with a one-hour lunch

Office: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those typical in an office environment, using phones, computers, and copiers. With long periods of sitting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
In large part much of the duties of this job are performed in an office environment, some or part of the duties will be completed in a warehouse/productive environment.
Warehouse/Production: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those typical in a warehouse/productive environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, including the sounds of forklifts and tools. Work is generally performed near moving mechanical parts. You will be exposed to chemicals known to cause health issues.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
