We are hiring an Assistant Purchasing Agent to support the Purchasing Agent to source quality materials from reliable vendors to meet our delivery demands. You will interact with upper management on a regular basis.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Follow established company purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate procurement of goods and services: such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies from suppliers (USA, Canada, International).
  • Evaluate purchasing requests for specifications, quality and delivery for selection of vendors, price, terms and conditions.
  • Maintain vendor relationships on behalf of the company.
  • Negotiate purchase prices, prepare purchase orders, review vendor proposals and orders for accuracy, delivery dates, invoicing requirements.
  • Monitor schedule and delivery dates of materials, resolves issues related to quality, quantity, delivery.
  • Coordinate non-conforming materials actions for defective/unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Procurement (sourcing, buying) of raw materials for manufacturing, contract negotiations (pricing, delivery schedules) is a minimum requirement for this position.
  • Must have prior experience working in manufacturing with basic understanding of fabrication, manufacturing process, bill of materials, blue print reading, can use calipers and basic shop math such as trigonometry, geometry.
  • Strong working knowledge of computerized purchasing and inventory control systems. We use NetSuite as our Material requirements planning (MRP) for production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
  • You must be organized and punctual, able to to prioritize and carry out tasks in a demanding environment.
  • Must have professional written, oral and inter-personal communication skills. You represent the company to vendors, and support the production and management.

Drug Free Workplace:

We are a Florida Drug Free Workplace. The company requires all employees to complete a preemployment 10 panel drug screen; employment status will be dependent on ability to pass this screening and partake on a quarterly random screen.

Hours, compensation and benefits:

Full-time 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday

Rate starts at $25.00 per hour and it is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

After 30-day waiting period employees become eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, paid holidays and paid time off that increase with longevity. After 90-Days employees over the age of 21 may participate in company sponsored 401(k).
