Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing department in procuring goods and services necessary for our operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating with vendors, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery of purchased items. The Purchasing Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of purchases and inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal departments to identify their purchasing needs and requirements
  • Research potential vendors and obtain quotes for goods and services
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best vendor for each purchase
  • Create and maintain purchase orders and purchase requisitions
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of purchased items to meet our shipping requirements
  • Verify invoices for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and vendor contracts
  • Assist in preparing reports on purchasing activities, including cost savings and vendor performance
