Purchasing Manager

Salary Range: $120,000.00 To $135,000.00 Annually

This Opportunity

Komline is in search of a results-oriented Purchasing Manager with a strong data-driven approach to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the procurement of a wide range of goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and subcontracted work for our organization. The Purchasing Manager will lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of purchasing procedures and lean principles to optimize our supply chain performance in terms of quality, delivery, cost, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Create and drive the development and achievement of objectives for the Purchasing Department.
  • Lead as strategic sourcing manager, managing external fabricators and vendors including their capacity, weekly updates etc.
  • Own the purchasing bowler and all performance measurements as well as drive vendor negotiations, sourcing decisions and in general would manage the team.
  • Develop and communicate purchasing system instructions and establish best practices within our ERP system.
  • Create and maintain an approved supplier list comprising vendors known for delivering best in class quality, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement pull systems within our manufacturing processes to reduce purchased inventory and enhance the flow of incoming materials.
  • Actively support the purchasing team by taking a hands-on approach and filling any gaps in purchasing execution requirements.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of market conditions and delivery trends to ensure optimal material availability and purchase pricing.
  • Review purchase orders and contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Engage with inspection and quality control teams, end-users, vendors, and other stakeholders to address issues related to goods or services, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure alignment with quality system requirements.
  • Perform other duties related to this role as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Present as approachable, energetic, enthusiastic, motivated, willing to make a difference, willing to support and help and excited to lead change!
  • 5+ years previous experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Sourcing, or a similar role.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, capital equipment with high mix/low volume a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Certifications in APICS, Lean Green Belt, and/or Project Management Professional preferred
