    The Opportunity

    Are you passionate about driving supply chain excellence and ensuring critical materials arrive on time to support business success? Hitachi Energy is seeking a Supply Chain Buyer to play a key role in managing supplier relationships, maintaining material flow, and supporting operational performance across our manufacturing organization.

    In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end purchasing process while working closely with suppliers, planning, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure material availability, resolve supply challenges, and optimize inventory levels. You will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on operational efficiency, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction by proactively managing procurement activities and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.     Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    • Manage the end-to-end purchase order process, including creation, transmission, acknowledgement, maintenance, and closure of purchase orders.

    • Monitor supplier commitments and proactively follow up on open orders to ensure on-time delivery.

    • Support production requirements by managing shortages, material escalations, and critical supply situations.

    • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery, quantity, documentation, invoicing, and quality-related issues.

    • Maintain accurate purchasing data within ERP systems, including lead times, confirmations, delivery schedules, and purchasing information records.

    • Coordinate with Planning and Manufacturing teams to prioritize material needs and mitigate potential supply risks.

    • Monitor supplier operational performance, including on-time delivery, responsiveness, and adherence to commitments.

    • Support inventory optimization initiatives by balancing material availability and inventory levels.

    • Drive continuous improvement activities related to procurement processes, supplier communication, and operational efficiency.

    Your Background

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.

    • 2-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, or supply chain roles.

    • Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships in a manufacturing or operations environment.

    • Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.

    • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

    • Solid understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and purchasing principles.
