Job description

Inventory Coordinator

To maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the sales facility. Manage inventory on site by overseeing cycle counts, receipts, adjustments, audits, and reconciliation.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity
  • Process and reconcile weekly cycle counts and update the cycle count log
  • Weekly monitoring and controlling the in-transit inventory
    • Coordinate with shipping to verify incoming shipments are accurate
  • Enter orders from manufacturing to support sales team and maintain min max levels 2-3 times weekly
  • Prepare outbound shipments for redistribution
  • Reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and inventory records by investigating/identifying root cause
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports, usage and turnover rates
    • Slow moving, excess inventory
    • Areas that can utilize excess inventory
  • Ensure that the warehouse has a product identification and location program
  • Oversee adjustments of all types (scrap, goodwill, warranty, waste, return to vendor, inventory adjustment) and ensure that they are captured in the correct general ledger
  • Oversee the inventory control functions at each assigned facility
  • Responsible for performing inventory audits every year on the hub warehouse and truck warehouses if applicable and report findings to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Oversee open purchase orders and maintaining accurate receipts at each assigned facility weekly
  • Send weekly valuations, open sales orders, and open purchase order reports to staff at each facility
  • Coordinate efforts across sales, accounting and purchasing to enhance inventory accuracy
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels
  • Work with district managers on upcoming forecasts and demand to keep inventory levels and min max levels maintained
  • Maintain a +/- 2% yearly variance of the total warehouse value
  • Other duties as assigned

Position requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree or at least 5 years' experience working with inventory systems
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel (familiar with using formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables), and Outlook
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs as a part of the job function
  • Must be able to pass a forklift certification test and drive a forklift daily if needed
