We take pride in delivering high-quality communication solutions safely while maintaining exceptional customer service and long-term client relationships. ** We are currently seeking a skilled Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to join our team in Calgary** The Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing the company's purchasing and inventory functions to ensure equipment, materials, and supplies are sourced, purchased, received, tracked, and reconciled accurately and efficiently. This role develops strong vendor relationships, sources products and services, negotiates pricing and payment terms, processes purchase orders, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports capital expenditure tracking. Working closely with Accounting and Operations, the successful candidate helps ensure inventory integrity, cost control, and timely procurement to support business operations. Purchasing & Procurement * Source equipment, materials, supplies, and services from qualified vendors. * Obtain quotations and evaluate pricing, quality, availability, and delivery timelines. * Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. * Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service agreements where appropriate. * Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) within the company's accounting system. * Ensure all purchases follow company purchasing policies and approval processes. * Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up with vendors. * Resolve vendor issues related to pricing, shortages, damaged goods, shipping, and invoicing discrepancies. * Maintain accurate purchasing records and supporting documentation. Inventory Management * Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. * Maintain accurate inventory and asset records within the inventory management system. * Add newly acquired assets and equipment into inventory records. * Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as required. * Perform regular inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. * Support annual physical inventory counts and audits. * Work closely with Accounting to reconcile inventory records with financial records. * Ensure inventory transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Capital Budget Support * Assist department managers by sourcing equipment and obtaining pricing for annual capital budget planning. * Prepare quotations and cost comparisons to support purchasing decisions. * Track approved capital purchases against approved budgets. * Maintain records of budgeted versus actual capital expenditures. * Coordinate the procurement of approved capital equipment. * Provide historical purchasing information and pricing trends to support future planning. Administration & Continuous Improvement * Maintain purchasing, inventory, and procurement documentation. * Prepare reports related to purchasing activity, inventory levels, and capital expenditures. * Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiencies. * Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls. * Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and department managers to support organizational goals.   Qualifications - Education & Experience * Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, or a related field is considered an asset. * Minimum of three years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or a related role. * Experience working with ERP, accounting, purchasing, or inventory management systems. * Experience negotiating with vendors and managing supplier relationships.
