Job description

Job Title: Wolf Purchasing Representative (Non-Exempt)

Business Unit: Wolf Purchasing

Reports To: Purchasing Manager

Overview: Wolf Home Products has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced, reliable, and hardworking Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent will purchase materials and service from Wolf Home Products in an efficient and economical manner following established policies and procedures in processing purchase orders.

Responsibilities

Some responsibilitiesinclude the following. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Strategic Goals and Objectives for Domestic purchasing team

  • Target 98.5% Fill rate and on time deliveries for all customers.
  • Work with category management and supplier partners, to lower acquisition costs, specifically on freight.
  • Focus on turns, decreasing inventory and on-hand/on-order quantities- by utilizing data and processes accurately, and diligently.
  • Communicate proactively, collaboratively, and clearly/concisely to all commercial, operational and all cross functional teams.

Tactical skill set requirements for Domestic purchasing team

  • Coordinates with vendors for the purpose of resolving purchasing issues, monitors and coordinates returns, ensures delivery and receiving processes are followed through.
  • Ensure PSBP takes advantage of all vendors' promotional pricing and incentives.
  • Keeps abreast of market and industry dynamics impacting both the supply of and demand for, needed products and materials.
  • Works with the category management team to optimize purchasing decisions by meeting cash-discount requirements, leveraging volume-purchasing discounts, and securing favorable pricing.
  • Makes certain that purchasing documents are completed properly and the terms and conditions of purchase are appropriate.
  • Keeps accurate records, including price histories and any problems doing business with specific vendors.
  • Works with category management teams to craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Maintains list of suppliers and supplier's personnel for each commodity, together with necessary catalog, pricing information and historical order data.
  • Assists with supplier selection and negotiation process.
  • Assists category manager and product management with review of the supply base and resolve supplier-related performance issues.
  • Knowledgeable of internal policies and procedures to ensure organizational behavior is honest, ethical and professional.
  • Supports special pricing quotes for the sales groups.
  • Execute the ordering of stock, non-stock and direct shipments of customer product.
  • Assist in the creation of material items/SKUs and update pricing as needed.
  • Perform various timely customer billing functions pertaining to direct shipments.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and three (3) years of experience, or an associate degree with five (5) years of purchasing experience.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. SAP preferred.
