Position:

The Costing Assistant is responsible for examining, understanding, and summarizing the money that the business spends on a process or product to help the organization control costs and engage in planning to improve cost efficiency.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory balances and labor transactions
  • Analyze data collected and record results
  • Analyze changes in product, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on cost
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs for management review
  • Maintain perpetual inventory by reviewing and analyzing inventory transactions to ensure proper postings to inventory
  • Assist in coordinating physical inventory counts in multiple facilities and monitor cycle counts
  • Reconciling Finished Goods inventories in multiple facilities
  • Resolve major discrepancies, and reconcile monthly and year-end inventory balances
  • Generate labor cost and profitability reports for management review
  • Establish and maintain standard costs to support inventory value
  • Accurately prepare periodic reports on margins by product and product line
  • Develop proficiency in our ERP application to be a resource for questions and solutions
