The Purchasing Assistant supports purchasing, inventory, receiving, and material control activities to ensure uninterrupted operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining purchasing records, coordinating inbound shipments, managing documentation, supporting inventory control initiatives, and ensuring material certifications and quality records are accurately maintained. The Purchasing Assistant also provides administrative support for purchasing activities and ERP system data management.

Receiving & Document Maintenance

โ€ข Review and maintain inspection records and Material Test Reports (MTRs) to ensure compliance with customer and quality requirements.
โ€ข Ensure all receiving and certification documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
โ€ข Maintain MTR records and support retrieval of documentation for audits, customer requests, and quality reviews.
Purchasing Support
โ€ข Monitor and maintain purchase order status to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
โ€ข Follow up with suppliers regarding open orders, backorders, and delivery commitments.
โ€ข Process and track backorder purchase orders and related transactions.
โ€ข Assist in maintaining purchasing records and procurement documentation.
Inventory & Material Control
โ€ข Assist with inventory accuracy initiatives and material tracking.
โ€ข Support warehouse inventory record maintenance and reconciliation efforts.
Quality & Compliance Support
โ€ข Coordinate material testing activities and maintain associated records.
โ€ข Ensure quality and compliance documentation is properly controlled and retained.
โ€ข Assist in meeting customer, regulatory, and internal documentation requirements.
ERP & Document Management
โ€ข Assist in creating and maintaining part records within the GSS system.
โ€ข Support GSS document control processes, including document updates, revisions, and record retention.

Reporting

Required Skills
