Reports to:  Regional Purchasing Manager  

Supervisory Duties: No 

Salary Range: $78,000 - $90,000

The Purchasing Engineer is responsible for assisting in the hiring of subcontractors and vendors for specific Consigli Construction projects.  The Purchasing Engineer will be assigned and work collaboratively with members of the project team including the Purchaser, Estimator and Project Manager, to complete this function on time and on budget. 

Responsibilities / Essential Functions 
  • Assist in hiring subcontractors and vendors for specific Consigli Construction projects. 
  • Assist in defining concise trade package scopes of work prior to buying these packages. 
  • Collaborate with project team members, including the Purchaser, Estimator and Project Manager, to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Work with company personnel to develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors. 
  • Assist in overseeing the prequalification, bid solicitation, and award processes for subcontractors and vendors. 
  • Write subcontracts and material purchase agreements. 
  • Assist in organizing meetings with subcontractors and vendors. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience  
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or relevant field required. 
  • 0-3 years of experience in construction management/engineering, or similar role or schooling required, preferably in the construction field.
